Altra running shoes experience and concerns about their soles

Running is a great experience. For us it mandates shoes. Present shoes are far from adapting to our foot physiology. Some new shoes are trying to take into account this discrepancy. Altra is one of them. These shoes are more comfortable, especially for large feet not only because they are wider but because of more room in the toe box.

Unfortunately, one part of the sole is made of hard plastic and can injure your skin if you touch slightly your other ankle skin, it occurs on a slightly irregular trail, in a turn and/or after a long run.

These shoes are great but they can injure your skin because of two small external plastic parts on the edge of the inner rear sole.

The second issue is about sole resistance to wearing out. 

I had to return a pair of because soles disassembled after about 8 runs. Now I got a pair of and the soles are unusually worn after < 400 km...
