Road safety: beware of pedestrians and cyclists instead of taxing four wheels vehicle speed on highways! Protégez les piétons et les cyclistes!

The global status report on road safety was recently released by the WHO. It comes with a surprise for our politicians who are focused on radars! There were 1.27 million of deaths in road traffic all over the world last year and half of them are pedestrians, cyclists or motorcyclists!
It is all but a surprise for doctors or nurses who work in emergency departments. They don't see any more very big four wheels vehicle accidents. Or very rarely. The big crashes are with motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians. And radars will not do anything for them except that they put money in the very depleted government budget. We don't need more radars but protected cyclist trails separated from roads and crossings. We do'nt need more radars nor more pedestrians walks but protected "passages" for crossing such as raised crossings or protected sidewalks for all pedestrians especially older or very young people or handicapped ones etc...
Radars are for the government budget, what we need is a public policy which is oriented toward the protection of humans and not a tax for vehicles.
