Hot topic about human ethics: use of CRISPR for humans

Editing DNA.
The story is about both genetic diseases (which is the aim of medicine, be that at it is) and genomic improvement a very risky assessment as we don't understand the biology of germline modifications.
This TV show is exceptional and worth the time you will spend to watch it.

Huge hope for next decades, genetic diseases and ageing process... And at the core of this hope a very special program we did't invent but discovered a few years ago in the bacterial world. Indeed CRISPR this "biological enzymatic system of genome editing" is the result of bacterial evolution. It is fascinating that it could become the most potent transformational tool for medicine about genetic diseases which are thought as a bad lottery of life and which deteriorates the quality of life of both parents and children bearing and expressing the genetic modification.

Simpler than we think about it

Should we use CRISPR to prevent diseases or improve human traits?
"You are altering the human germline" "we shouldn't do it"

We have embarked in clinical studies with the first RCT about CRISPR in humans.

This history will be self-writing for the short and long-term future.
