What should lead our public decisions? Politics or science

The end of politics

The list of controversial subjects in this paper demonstrates that politicians can no longer decide on their own in order to maximize their chance to be elected or re-elected.
On the other hand the author overestimates the capacity of science to guide public choices because of a remaining level of uncertainty.
In this perspective the value of continuous analysis of big data and flexibility of the decision making process give a scientific answer to the most difficult cases.
Improvement of public decisions is not only mandatory to deliver a good service to citizens but it could drastically diminish the cost of mistaken costly policies.
