Alcohol and drug abuse by physicians

The issue of alcoholism and drug abuse among physicians is a very tough one. It recalls me two cases I encountered in my private practice career. In those two cases no gentlemen agreement occurred before injuries were done to patients. Manipulation by the concerned physicians, extreme cowardice by colleagues and clinic administration led to major issues.
