RCT give us key data for evidence based medicine. they are not the Bible but medical experimenst. So one must read the paper and supplements if available in order to check the protocol and the how the authors drew their conclusions.
RCT are not meta-analysis.
Meta-analysis are made of RCT...
For very precise studies RCT are of unvaluable importance.
For complex models as diets or heterogeneous populations like high LDL cholesterol patients or low occurence diseases the conclusions are often very uncertain.
